Megan's drawing collection was inspired by insects, she focused on negative space, shape and scale. She designed large scale drawings using mixed media and a variety of drawing techniques to create this collection. She used a risk-taking approach, make this collection unique. Her different risks used for this collection were: bright colours, small and large scale, mark making, form, Gouache painting, Acrylic painting, Watercolour painting, light colour tones, less detail, large scale, block colour, placement of design, different techniques, thumbnail drawings, importance of space, A3&A2 paper to be used, mixed media, abstract, design patterning, repeats, CAD, oil pastels, stripes, experimental, back grounds and drawing on mixed media. This created many different drawings where she could then develop into her woven textile designs.
