How MW Textiles Design began.

Hello,
My name is Megan and welcome to MW Textile Design.

I have always loved textiles, arts and crafts, it has always been a hobby of mine. I wanted to create my own wall decor for my home as I have a great eye for design. Hand woven tapestry is a very time consuming skill but also very rewarding . The finished products are something so special and personal.
​
I specialized in BA/BSc Hons in weave and contemporary practitioner at The University of Huddersfield. This is where I fell in love with weaving and handmade tapestry. I started weaving on an industrial loom and went on to create my own hand made loom. This is where I found my creative style within tapestry.
​
I started posting my Tapestry’s on my Facebook and Instagram I began to get quite a lot of interest. Soon every time I posted one of my hand woven creations I started getting more and more messages. I then began to do more commissions for each individual customer, they would describe to me there ideas, colours and designs. This helped us to collaborate together to create a beautiful handwoven unique tapestry just for them. My clients usually have a creative eye with a unique visual appeal. To me, each project is a new opportunity to design something fresh and original using the appropriate methodology to ensure our clients are satisfied with everything.
